A Life in Movement
I’ve been involved in personal training for over 30 years, and it has remained the thread that connects much of my professional life. I’ve always been drawn to practical work — being on my feet, working directly with people, and helping individuals make meaningful changes in their day-to-day lives.
Over the years I’ve regularly stepped away from the gym floor to pursue further education and research, deepening my understanding of movement, health, and resilience, but I’ve always returned to working with clients.
Personal training allows me to bring these strands together: movement, health science, psychology, and the practical realities of how people live.
I particularly value working within my own community, supporting people to build strength, resilience, and confidence in ways that fit into the rhythm of their everyday lives.

Holistic Approach
I help people improve their health through well-designed movement balanced with evidence-informed rejuvenation strategies. Interventions are developed collaboratively, taking into account individual goals, capacity, and context. Small, well-chosen changes compound over time.

Academic
Background
My approach to training is grounded in formal study as well as practical experience. My academic background informs the way I support clients - physically, mentally, and holistically.

Developed a strong foundation in behavioural science, motivation, stress management, and the psychological factors that influence long-term health and habit change.
02
Postgraduate Diploma in Health Science (Physical Activity & Nutrition)
Advanced study in exercise prescription, physical activity guidelines, and evidence-based nutrition to support sustainable health and performance.
03
Business Degree in Marketing & Advertising
Early training in communication and strategy, shaping my ability to educate, simplify complex information, and support clients with clarity and structure.

Good coaching is grounded in both science and real life
Alongside my work as a personal trainer, I’ve always had a strong interest in health research and writing. I enjoy exploring the science behind movement, behaviour, and wellbeing, and translating complex ideas into practical insights that people can apply in everyday life.
Over the years I’ve contributed to a range of articles and publications across the health and fitness space, sharing perspectives on topics such as exercise habits, stress management, metabolism, and maintaining wellbeing through different stages of life.
My writing is shaped by both academic study and real-world coaching experience, combining evidence-informed thinking with the practical realities of how people live, train, and balance work, family, and health.
I’ve contributed to and been interviewed for a number of health and wellbeing publications, including Les Mills New Zealand, Les Mills International, The Good Life Guide (Cigna), Shore City Style Notes, Next Magazine and the NZ Herald, sharing insights on topics such as training variety, stress management, sustainable health habits, and maintaining long-term wellbeing.
My interest in health also extends into academic research. My postgraduate work explored recovery from sports-related concussion, and I have been involved in collaborative research examining topics such as running during pregnancy.
This curiosity and love of learning continue to shape my approach to coaching, allowing me to support clients with strategies that are both evidence-informed and practical for everyday life.
